Q: Where did the idea for Sara Harper come from?
A: Kristi used to be in the military and performed some volunteer work in local schools, mentoring children to better their reading skills. One child, a Second Grader named Sara, really impacted Kristi and she decided to use her name as the main character in her book.
Q: Where is the town of Rocky Way REALLY located?
A: Rocky Way is actually the town of Sandy, Oregon, which is close to where Kristi grew up.

About the Author: Kristi Young
Kristi grew up in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. She loves animals and has owned horses and rescued many cats and dogs from shelters.
Kristi is also an artist and drew the colorful cover of The Secret Club. She loves to paint images of dogs on canvas and ceramic tiles.
She now lives in the Inland Northwest, in Liberty Lake, Washington, with her husband and two miniature schnauzers.
